Volunteer with us

We have mentors from many different backgrounds; teachers, social workers, scientists, parents, grandparents, and more. What they all have in common is empathy, patience, and commitment to tamariki.

Donate

All money donated goes directly to the tamariki who need it. We pay for camp fees, resources, and other opportunities. If you’d like to support us financially please visit our donate page.

 

Donate supplies

We distribute camp gear, reading books, and colouring supplies to schools so if you have any good quality items, please contact us to enquire about drop off at our office.

Things we accept:

  • Backpacks and sports/duffel bags

  • Sleeping bags

  • Warm jackets and sweaters

  • Thermals

  • Wet weather clothing

  • Colouring pencils and felt tip pens

  • Reading books (primary and intermediate age)

    We use these with kids we work with during our mentoring sessions

  • Camp gear

    We give good quality school camp items to schools for children who may not be able to get their own or attend camps because they haven’t got the gear. This includes: sleeping bags, day packs/backpacks, sports bags/duffel bags, warm jackets, rain jackets.

  • Small bookshelves

    Used for our free book shelves at schools we use 3 tier small bookshelves like the one pictured

  • Reading books

    We use donated (primary and intermediate age) books to fill the bookshelves we have at schools

  • Specific books

    We often use books about emotions and other specific topics related to the experiences of the children we work with. Here is an example list of books we would like: Child Mind Book List
